Student Led Conference March 21 and 22

Eric Harvie School will be hosting our student-led conferences the evening of Thursday March 21 and the morning of Friday March 22. This round of conferences will be student-led and will provide each learner a chance to show what they have learned as well as provide time for families to engage with the classroom teachers. Families will be asked to sign up for a 30 minute time block to allow for ample time for students to show-off their learning, and as well to provide time for conversation.

The Sign-up for conferences will open Saturday March 16th at 8:00 am and close on Wednesday March 20th at 4:00 pm. Please sign up for a 30 minute time slot under your child’s team of teachers.

ALL CONFERENCES ARE BOOKED ON-LINE THROUGH YOUR "MY CBE ACCOUNT":

All parents/guardians who have not already done so, will need to create a new account to access PowerSchool to book a conference. Families will need to go to www.cbe.ab.ca/myCBE to create an account. Families will need to know the email on file at their child’s school, as well as their child’s CBE Student ID number and birthdate. Support documents to assist families have been posted at www.cbe.ab.ca/support. This includes how to create an account, how to add additional students to your account, and frequently asked questions (Google translator is available on this website.)

NEED HELP?

If you need help setting up a MyCBE account or booking a conference, please call the school office for assistance or email Josie Cesario at jccesario@cbe.ab.ca directly.

Eric Harvie School would like to invite all students to participate in a CBE-WIde Level Up Minecraft Challenge!

What is Level Up Calgary?

Level Up Calgary is CBE's system-wide Minecraft design challenge in partnership with Microsoft and The City of Calgary. It features a customized Minecraft world of downtown Calgary with access to city experts, public art, and key landmarks. This authentic, curricular-aligned 21st century learning opportunity offers students a chance to prototype their ideas in Minecraft and share their voice for the future of our city.

What do students need to get started?

A device with Minecraft Education Edition installed (specific instructions will follow).

My learner is interested…What next?

Students who are interested will meet Mrs. Cox in the Hub at lunch on March 19 to kick off the challenge with a video.

Students will complete the challenge at home on their own device.

They will be provided with a student/parent guide, tutorials, and instructions on how to log in using their CBE student ID.

We will have check in meetings at school to track progress along the way.

Submissions are due April 26.

Please email Mrs. Cox by Friday March at njcox@cbe.ab.ca if your learner is interested in participating in this year’s challenge.
