Attendance Line: 403-817-3532 ext. 1

Please report all lates, absences and early pick ups.

When students are going to miss classes due to illness, medical appointments or family emergencies, parents / guardians must call the office at the number above. Leave a message including your child’s first and last name, grade, classroom teacher and the reason for the absence/late. If we have not received a call regarding your child’s absence, we will attempt to contact you to verify the absence. We will phone the work and home number of the number one contact person which you have listed. Your attendance phone call is very important. Help us by keeping us informed of any changes to your contact information.

Late students are to enter through the front doors to report to the main office, and then proceed to their classroom.

We strongly encourage all students to arrive on time every day. Just five minutes lateness every day is the equivalent of missing three days of instruction averaged over a school year. Missed instruction impacts achievement. Regular school attendance and punctuality is required of all students.

Extended Absence

We recognize that enrichment activities or travel present unique learning opportunities for students. Consequently, it becomes the parent’s responsibility to inform the teacher and school office during their child(ern) extended absences.

Parents/Guardians

Before school, parents/guardians are welcome into the office, however, we ask they refrain from visiting the office between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM as we will be focusing on attendance. Attendance is a priority to ensure every child is safe at school.

If parents/guardians come to the office before 8:30 AM, they may be asked to wait to speak with the office staff until attendance has been completed.

Attendance Expectations at the CBE

Regular and punctual attendance is foundational to student learning, academic achievement and long-term success. The CBE Administrative Regulation 6020 - Attendance of Students applies to all students, and outlines the responsibilities for students, parents and school staff.
