Swimming Update

Thank you very much to all the volunteers for the grade 1/2 classes that helped us to offer swimming as a part of the PE curriculum and as an opportunity to develop an important life safety skill. It was a tiring and busy week, but a great learning experience.

For our Kindergarten and grade 3/4 classes, we will be sending home forms next week for the lessons to occur from March 4 - 7. Again, we greatly appreciate your volunteer support!

Sharing Learning Information with EHS Families

Our current School Development Plan (SDP) is focused on gathering high quality assessment data from learners in order to then best plan instruction to help meet each learners needs. As part of the SDP, we are endeavoring to provide more examples of learning back to families. This week, the grade 1-4 classes will send home a folder with a sample of current learning to share with families. This is meant as a way for you to see your child’s progress and for you to have a conversation with your child to hear their voice about their learning.

You will see a coloured folder with your child’s name on it, an artifact of their learning, and some other information about their learning that will vary based on the task and their grade level. It will include some information about how the work met the criteria for the assessment and some kind of reflection from the learner. 

Kindergarten classes should have received this information in the past couple weeks. Our plan is to send this folder home once each month to keep the conversation moving forward about your child’s progress and learning.

January Report Card Information

The term 1 report cards were made available online through MyCBE on are available to view, download and print. Once logged in, select the “Report Card / Student Info" on the left Navigation menu, then the Report Card tab to view, download or print the report card. If you need support with creating a MyCBE account, please visit: https://cbe.ab.ca/support/Pages/MyCBE-PowerSchool.aspx 

If you have any questions or would like any clarification after reading the report card, please feel free to contact your child’s classroom teacher. Our next formal conference time is in March, however, it is always better to start a conversation now if you have concerns or “wonders” about your child’s current learning in school.
