Grades 1-3 Winter Concert

Thank you so much for the amazing turnout for our grade 1-3 winter performance! It was an amazing display of musical learning and it was wonderful to see the growth that the learners have made! A very special thank you to all of the staff that supported the event and of course to Mrs. Coulson (and her current student teacher Ms. Abbott) for running such a wonderful concert!

A Reminder About Student Safety and Respectful Communication

One of our shared goals as a school community is to ensure that every child feels safe, respected, and supported while at school. To support this, I would like to clarify an important expectation around how concerns are addressed on school grounds.

It is not appropriate for parents or guardians to approach a child from another family to discuss concerns or incidents involving their own child. Even when intentions are positive, these interactions can be confusing, intimidating, or distressing for children, and they place students in situations they are not equipped to manage.

Under Alberta’s Education Act, schools are responsible for maintaining a safe and caring learning environment for all students. This responsibility includes ensuring that concerns between families are handled by adults, through appropriate school channels, rather than involving children directly.

If an issue arises involving your child and another student, we ask that you please contact your child’s teacher or the school administration. We are committed to listening carefully, supporting all students involved, and working collaboratively with families to resolve concerns in a fair and respectful way.

Thank you for helping us model positive problem-solving and for supporting a safe, caring school environment for every child. Working together, we can ensure our school remains a place where students feel protected and valued every day.

February Swimming Lessons

We will be having our first group of classes attend the swimming program at Sir Winston Churchill Pool in the mornings of February 23 - 26.

We would greatly appreciate your support with volunteering for swimming for our grade 2, grade 4 and two of our grade 3 classes (Mclean/Watterson & Ulveland). They are swimming on February 23 - 26 in the mornings only. The other grade 3 classes, grade 1 and grade 5 will be swimming on March 30 - April 2.

  • Please ensure you have a valid Police Clearance through the school prior to signing up.
  • If you are able to support multiple classes, please add your name to the consecutive sign-up slots. (You will notice the times overlap)
  • You are welcome to join us directly at the pool or to meet us at the school and ride the bus.

Here is the sign-up link to volunteer:

Thank you for your time and support! We feel that having an opportunity for learners to be comfortable with swimming is a key life skill and we need your support to make it happen!

Kindergarten Registration & Guide

Registration for the 2026-27 school year opened this week. Explore the Kindergarten Registration Guide for everything you need to get started!

  • Registration at Eric Harvie School is open for residents of the CBE in Rockland Park and north end of Tuscany in Kindergarten to Grade 5 for the 2026-27school year.

  • Orientation for newly registered Kindergarten learners and families will be on Friday, June 5. Full information will be emailed to families in early March. This will be a chance for our new young learners to see what Kindergarten will be like, and for families to be able to have a first connection to the Eric Harvie School community and a tour around the school to help you to know more about our school also!

We have also added some additional information for families that are new to Eric Harvie School HERE

We look forward to having your family join our school community in the years ahead! Please let us know if you have any other questions we can support your family with through this exciting step for your child!
