February Swimming

We had an awesome learning experience this past week with our swimming lessons! It was amazing to see our learners take on a different kind of challenge and to persevere through learning new skills.

This great learning experience would not have been possible without your volunteer support! We are so thankful for the parents that gave up their time to help make this activity possible. From parents that carved out a couple of hours from their schedule to parents that were on breaks from more shift-style roles that had multiple days available it was amazing to have so many parents to help ensure we could get everyone to the pool, in the pool and changed to get ready to head home…these parts seemed like the most challenging at times!

Our second group of swimmers will go to the pool the week of March 30 - right after spring break. This will be grade 1, grade 5 and the Cole and Low grade 3 classes. We have found in past years that having Kindergarten attend these days is a bit too challenging with the length of their day and the travel back and forth between the pool. Kindergarten will be preparing for different field trip and outdoor activities in the spring ahead!

Grade 4 Alberta Education Assurance Survey

Alberta Education completes an annual survey to parents in grade 4 (and select upper grades) across the province. This survey:

  • Provides feedback to Alberta Education and Childcare on students’, teachers’, and parents' / legal guardians' opinions about their school, their schoolwork and the opportunities their school provides.
  • Provides important information on the quality of education students are receiving.
  • Results are:
    • used by schools, school authorities and the government to see what’s working and what needs to be improved; and
    • shared with the whole community.

Grade 4 parents would have received an email with a link to complete the survey over the past couple of weeks. You coils search your inbox for: “Alberta Education and Childcare Assurance Survey” to locate this email.

This is the final week for completing the survey. Our grade 4 students will also be completing the survey in class this week.

Thank you for your time and feedback!

Kindergarten Registration & Guide

Registration for the 2026-27 school year opened this week. Explore the Kindergarten Registration Guide for everything you need to get started!

  • Registration at Eric Harvie School is open for residents of the CBE in Rockland Park and north end of Tuscany in Kindergarten to Grade 5 for the 2026-27school year.

  • Orientation for newly registered Kindergarten learners and families will be on Friday, June 5. Full information will be emailed to families in early March. This will be a chance for our new young learners to see what Kindergarten will be like, and for families to be able to have a first connection to the Eric Harvie School community and a tour around the school to help you to know more about our school also!

We have also added some additional information for families that are new to Eric Harvie School HERE

We look forward to having your family join our school community in the years ahead! Please let us know if you have any other questions we can support your family with through this exciting step for your child!
