We are sad to report that a key staff member that helps in so many quiet and helpful ways is moving on to a new role in the CBE. Stacey Bristow has supported our school in the Lunchroom and in the main office for the past few years, and if you have needed any support with a Volunteer Clearance at the school she has been the helpful voice on our end! We wish Stacey all the best at her next CBE school, Simon Fraser School. Thank you for all the support you have provided to our learners, parents and staff!

Connecting with classroom learning

Our grade level teams will continue to publish weekly emails home that provide you a quick snapshot into the learning in the classrooms. The goal of this information is to help you to know main ideas that they are currently working on to help support from home. 

We will also be starting with sharing monthly updates about the specific learning progress of your child with you. Teams will either be publishing this information online in PowerSchool, in basically the same location as the online report card, or will be sending home physical artifacts of learning. The classroom teachers will include this information in their weekly email that goes home when they are ready to send this communication. 

Raz-Kids subscription

Our wonderful School Council has provided funds for all learners in the school to have access to Raz-Kids, an online reading program. We have just had the year “changeover” occur on our school-wide subscription so teachers will share the login information with your child (or to you depending on the grade level) in the next couple of weeks so that you can take advantage of this resource. If you are still having difficulty with connecting to Raz-Kids in the next couple of weeks, please check in with your child’s classroom teacher for initial support. Eric Harvie Student Enhancement Society (Parent Council) - New Fundraiser Kick Off! The Big Box Cards!

This campaign is a fun and simple way to support our school, and each box offers great value your family and friends will love. The money raised is used to help cover the costs for programs, equipment, resources, and bussing. It also takes some of the financial burden off of the parents-allowing more kids to participate in these activities. The fundraiser runs from November 5^th to November 20^th. Delivery for students to take home is expected the second week of December. Payment can be made via e-transfer, or cash. Examples of the all new boxes can be seen via this link, www.big box fundraising.com, the QR code on the envelope coming home with students this week, or examples at the office on display.
