Our School Survey

Eric Harvie School will be participating in an online school perception survey for students called the OurSCHOOL Student Survey. This anonymous survey is completely voluntary for all CBE students. Responses from this survey are used at the system and school level to recognize and improve what is necessary for students to feel safe, welcome, and cared for when at school.

This survey is only for students in grade 4-12 and is not given to our younger students. It will be administered by classroom teachers during regular classroom time.

School Conferences

School Conferences with classroom teachers will be on Thursday, Nov. 27 (Kindergarten - 8:00-2:30pm & Grades K-5 - 4:30 - 7:30 pm) and Friday, Nov. 28 (Grades K(Mask)-Gr.5 - 8:00 am - 1 pm). Bookings will open on Friday, Nov. 21 at 9am. Please ensure you have access to your MyCBE account to book these conferences - if you need help please see this Website or see Josie in the office. In case you have not set up your parent account please visit the CBE website.

Lost and Found Alert

When you attend conferences next week, we ask that you please take a look at the lost and found as it has grown considerably. We will also have the learners look through it next week with their classes as we try to help build more independence in keeping track of belongings…clearly a work in progress! Thank you!

Music performance plan for this year

Eric Harvie School has traditionally had an optional choir opportunity in the Fall each year, leading to a winter concert performance. For this year we are trying out a different plan that offers a performance opportunity for all learners.

We will be hosting a winter concert event with two shows on Thursday, February 5, 2026 for all grade 1-3 classes. There will be a daytime and evening performance.

Grade 4-5 classes will put on a concert performance on May 28, 2026. This will also include an evening performance.

We are still finalizing the details of a spring event for our Kindergarten families and we will share more information closer to the date.

Raz-Kids subscription

Our wonderful School Council has provided funds for all learners in the school to have access to Raz-Kids, an online reading program. We have just had the year “changeover” occur on our school-wide subscription so teachers will share the login information with your child (or to you depending on the grade level) in the next couple of weeks so that you can take advantage of this resource. If you are still having difficulty with connecting to Raz-Kids in the next couple of weeks, please check in with your child’s classroom teacher for initial support. On behalf of the EHS School Council, we hope this is a helpful resource for your family!

EHS Enhancement Society - final few Casino Fundraiser volunteers needed

The EHSES is looking for 3 - 4 final volunteers for an upcoming Casino Fundraiser event on December 1 and 2. These fundraisers help to support your children in many ways:

  • Around $10 000 annually towards buses to amazing field trip opportunities
  • Funds to help support families that are financially unable to pay for events such as swimming
  • Amazing learning opportunities such as this year’s dance residency with Sound Kreations
  • Technology to create amazing learning experiences such as robotics equipment for all ages, a 3D printer, and new iPads or Chromebooks.

The EHSES has put in a lot of time and effort to help secure this amazing fundraising opportunity that provides around $70 000 of support for the learners in our school. They greatly appreciate the donation of a few hours of your time to help make this possible!
