Ramadan opportunity for learners

The next few weeks brings an important time of year in the Muslim community with Ramadan occurring during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. During this time of prayer and reflection, families may also plan for their children to fast during the school day. If this is the situation for your child and they would prefer to not be in the classroom during lunchtime, please let us know. We have a few different ideas for how we could help accommodate these children to still have a positive experience during lunch also. Please send any messages to Josie at jccesario@cbe.ab.ca and we will help coordinate this in the office. Ramadan Mubarak!

Upcoming Field Trips for classes

The next couple of months will see many field trips come up across many grade levels. Grade teams will be sending home full information closer to these dates, however, we wanted to give parents a heads up as they may want to arrange work schedules to be able to volunteer to support and enjoy these learning experiences! Please ensure that you have your police clearance up to date to ensure you are able to join us. Here are the upcoming dates:

March 6 - Heritage Park - Palmer’s Grade 1 Class 

March 10 - Heritage Park - Disher and Kopczynski’s Grade 1 Classes

April 14 - Telus Spark - All Grade 4 Classes

CBE Statements - Student Fees: 

CBE Parent Account Statements went home with those students who have outstanding fees owing. Fees can be paid through your MyCBE account www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe directly or feel free to visit the office where debit and credit payments can be accepted. Should you have any questions please contact Josie Cesario jccesario@cbe.ab.ca . Thank you for clearing up your fees timely. 

EHS Peace Assembly Playlist

This month we are adding a new peace song to our repertoire.  It is called Respect… no not by Aretha Franklin but by Nick and Becky Drake.  I highly recommend taking a listen to this one at home. 

Quite a few of our learners have been talking about listening to our peace songs at home so we thought we would let you know what some of them are so that you can make your own playlist at home if you would like. We use these songs throughout the day and during Peace Assemblies to spread kindness and teach skills. You can find these songs on streaming platforms and Youtube. We will keep adding to this song list as we learn them.
