Parent-Learner-Teacher Conferences
You will have received communication from the CBE that all March Conferences have now been moved online due to the CBE response to the current CUPE job action situation. Here are some key notes to help you with preparing for these conferences:
- Sign-up for conferences will begin on Friday, March 14th at 9:00 am through the MyCBE conference booking system.
 - We will share any available technical support information from the CBE in the next week to help you prepare
 - We still ask that you have your child attend the conference together with you, as teachers will look to involve them in the conference to talk about their current learning
 - Teachers will also have some way to share examples of current learning - items may be sent home in the “assessment folder”, or they may share information digitally during the conference.
 - We are still able to provide interpreter support - please send a message to ericharvie@cbe.ab.ca or contact your child’s teacher through email to ensure we are prepared to offer this support.

Nemo News!
We have begun learning the songs for Finding Nemo Kids. If you are looking for the music on Youtube please make sure you are looking up the Kids version as it is different from the Jr. version.
Every week you will find the new songs that we are learning here. It will be very helpful if you could spend some time listening to them throughout the week. The two songs from this week are One Dedicated Father and Big Blue World. Kindergarten to Grade 2 will start these songs next week.
One Dedicated Father: One Dedicated Father lyrics for BWE Panthers
Big Blue World Big Blue World lyrics for BWE Panthers
Today the students found out if they were cast in the play. Congratulations to everyone who auditioned. Even if you did not get a part you should be very proud of yourself for getting up there and trying. Information for those cast will be emailed out. If you did not get cast, do not fret, you are still in the play, as part of the sea chorus.
First after school rehearsal for the auditioned cast will be Thursday March 13th from 3:15-4:30. Please pick up your actor from the front doors of the school at 4:30.

Clothing Donations
Elementary schools regularly face scenarios where an emergency change of clothes is helpful - and the recent “Harvie Pond” we had near the amphitheater was definitely one of them! We appreciate many of our younger students coming to school with some extra dry clothes in their school bag each day.
We are looking for donations of new or gently used clothing in youth sizes 5-10. We generally need pants such as leggings or joggers, and a few pairs of good condition socks or new underpants would also be helpful. If you are able to donate, please drop the items off in the office during school hours. Anything that we are unable to use effectively at the school we will pass along to a charity. Thank you in advance!
Parent survey on School Development Plan and School Fees
At the most recent parent council meeting, we shared information about our current school development plan and the fees that are associated with different learning opportunities.
