Hip Hop Dance Residency

We started our two-week Sound Kreations dance residency this week. All our classes started to learn some of the basic moves of Hip Hop dancing. This is a great opportunity to try out a different kind of movement and you can see the kinesthetic learning that the students are doing to be able to learn the new moves and perform them together with the music.

In areas of the arts like dance, a chance to perform your learning is often an end point of the learning process. We have set-up an opportunity for our learners to share their learning with other grades from around the school. Parents are also welcome to come and watch a short presentation of the learning from this experience on Friday, January 23 in the gym. As a heads up - each class will be showing their learning together as a large group to one song for 2-3 minutes. It will be a quick, fun performance and will look different at each grade level. Here are the times for each performance:

8:45 - 9:15 am:

KAM - Mask

Grade 1: Disher & Palmer

Grade 2: Chilton & Day

Grade 3: Watterson/McLean & Ulveland

Grade 4: Blais

Grade 5: Stacey

9:45 - 10:15 am:

KAM - Conley

Grade 1: Petiwala

Grade 2: McEachern

Grade 3: Low & Cole

Grade 4: Huebner & Patterson

Grade 5: Lawson & Davis

Grades 1-3 Winter Concert

Grades 1-3 will be hosting a winter concert on Feb. 5th. This involves all students in those grades. There will be a matinee performance at 1:00 and an evening performance at 5:30p.m. Please bring your student to the school for 5:15 p.m. If you are not staying for the evening performance your student’s teacher will bring them to the front of the school when the performance is over. This will be between 6 and 6:15 p.m. It is important that we have all of our students there to support one another, especially if they have signed up for speaking roles. This is a great opportunity for your child to perform and feel like a star. Thank you for your support.

Kindergarten Registration & Guide

Registration for the 2026-27 school year opened this week. Explore the Kindergarten Registration Guide for everything you need to get started!

  • Registration at Eric Harvie School is open for residents of the CBE in Rockland Park and north end of Tuscany in Kindergarten to Grade 5 for the 2026-27school year.

  • Orientation for newly registered Kindergarten learners and families will be on Friday, June 5. Full information will be emailed to families in early March. This will be a chance for our new young learners to see what Kindergarten will be like, and for families to be able to have a first connection to the Eric Harvie School community and a tour around the school to help you to know more about our school also!

We have also added some additional information for families that are new to Eric Harvie School HERE

We look forward to having your family join our school community in the years ahead! Please let us know if you have any other questions we can support your family with through this exciting step for your child!

Attention Grade 5 Parents

We are still looking for two more volunteers for the Grade 5 Graduation Committee. This group will assist with planning and organizing the end-of-year celebration for our grade 5s. We will also organize and run fundraiser(s) to raise the money needed for this event.

If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please email Jen at ehsspecialevents@gmail.com . We would love your help in making this a memorable event for our students.
